Vestervind and Karmøy Skipsconsult Announce Strategic Partnership
Strengthening Vestervind’s marine engineering capacity through our partnership with Karmøy Skipsconsult.
Vestervind is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with Karmøy Skipsconsult (KSC), strengthening our engineering capabilities across offshore wind and complex marine operations.
Founded in 1977 and based in Karmøy, Norway, KSC brings senior naval architects and multi-discipline engineers with deep experience in ship design, yard follow-up and offshore execution. By embedding directly into Vestervind projects, KSC expands our ability to deliver safe, efficient and practical marine solutions.
Together, Vestervind and KSC provide a seamless, integrated project team—reducing interfaces, shortening lead times and lowering risk for developers and vessel owners. Key areas of collaboration include:
Concept & FEED for marine operations – option studies, capability assessments, basis-of-design and risk reviews.
Structure, stability & seafastening – strength analyses, seafastening design, lift plans and class/MWS interface.
Conversions & retrofits – adapting vessels for offshore wind installation, maintenance and subsea operations.
Methods, procedures & compliance – method statements, rigging/lifting procedures, testing and documentation.
Site engineering & inspection – yard and offshore support, inspections and as-built documentation.
Vessel & equipment integration – deck layouts and 3D engineering for mobilisation equipment and systems.
This partnership combines Vestervind’s operational expertise with KSC’s renowned engineering capacity, enabling faster mobilisations and more robust results in offshore wind and demanding marine projects.
